Every open posting on the job board is scored against your Career Profile -- your target job titles and the skills on your profile and skill list. A job is a strong match when its title lines up with one of your target titles and it shares several skills with your profile; it's a moderate match when there's real overlap but fewer signals line up. Jobs with almost no overlap don't surface at all.
Every match comes with a plain-language "Why this match" explanation on the Discover Jobs page -- which skills overlapped, whether the title matched, and whether it's one of your target companies -- instead of a bare percentage. Matching re-runs fresh every time you load the page against the current open job board, so results reflect what's actually open right now.
Your target job titles and skills come from your Career Profile. On the Discover Jobs page you can also set job-search-specific targets: companies to prioritize, companies to exclude, and keywords to include or exclude from postings. Location, work arrangement, relocation preference, and job type come from your Career Profile and Job Preferences and apply automatically -- there's nothing separate to configure for those on this page.
Auto-Apply is a bulk, preference-driven way to move through your matches, not unattended submission. When it's turned on, one click creates a draft application for every match that fits your saved search criteria -- nothing is sent anywhere yet, and there's nothing to select job by job. Drafts sit in a review queue until you click Confirm & submit, which submits every draft waiting there in one action. Only that click moves a draft to submitted. This is a deliberate product guarantee: the application tooling cannot, even by a future bug, submit an application on your behalf without that explicit confirmation.
Every application -- manual, Copilot-drafted, or assisted -- goes through the same Prepare Application page before it's submitted. For jobs from an ATS with field-mapping support, that page can draft a tailored cover letter and screening-question responses from your Career Profile for you to review, edit, and save. Nothing is ever submitted anywhere until you click Submit yourself.
